Authentic is the key word here!!!

Authentic Mexican cuisine is the actual description for Don Jose Tequilas. The food is great, the staff is super nice. It is the place to go with friends, family or partner. And let's not forget, it is the place to be on Cinco De Mayo. My friends and I go every year and we enjoyed it like it's our first time.

Visit & enjoy the BEST Mexican cuisine

I have enjoyed Don Jose Tequilas many, many times. I have had great food every time I ate there. The margaritas are delightful. Don't forget to try their sangria and the many fine brands of tequila they offer. If you are unsure about anything, ask the staff. I have always found them to be polite, professional, fun and informative. Whenever I had a question about a meal or a brand of tequila, they took the time to find out what I like and made their suggestion.

This restaurant is the best Mexican restaurant in Rhode Island, without a doubt.

Great Mexican Cuisine in Providence

Don Jose's was great! Considering the quality (and quantity) of food and drinks, ambiance, location and service I am rating this place a 5/5. It is one of the most original and authentic Mexican cuisines I have ever seen around the Providence area.

The variety of tequila they have behind the bar is amazing. My friends and I were walking around Federal Hill with the intent to have a few drinks before going to a local game. We stopped by Don Jose's which was the closest bar/restaurant to us near the end of Federal Hill and kind of tucked away - the place looks smaller than it really is from the outside and I love finding places that are gems tucked away.

The lighting was dimmed, and the tables and bar area glowed in a ruby/red color. The place was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. We walked in and were seated right away at the bar where we ordered drinks from a very friendly/outgoing/experienced bartender. We did not expect to A) be seated so quickly with so many people around, and B) get our drinks so fast.

The drinks were amazing. We ordered authentic Mexican appetizers, then entrees, then desert. Everything was very affordable - entrees between $14-$22 from what I remember. I would highly recommend the Molcajete Azteca which is a specialty containing sirloin, chicken, cactus, shrimp, chorizo, beans and a variety of spices - it was phenomenal.
