Awesome Taco shop.. A friend told us about this one. She said it is a fast food , taco shop. well, we got there and entered a place that reminded us of all the little taco/grocery shops around the world. You can pick up some typical Mexican products, get in line to order by picking or pointing at the pictures on the wall, take your number and sit. They call out your number and you pick up your tray of food. I got the taco extra extra. Melted in my mouth. My friend got a chicken burrito, a beef steak taco, and a taco al pastor/lamb. He loved the tacos. He enjoyed the burrito but wanted it spicier. We ordered the flan. It was good too. We bussed our tray and were on our way. They do fast food fantastic!

Simple, delicious, fresh tacos----FRESH. Like so many of the "ethnic" restaurants recently opened in Providence, this place is a gem, offering beautifully-prepared, simple and outstanding food at very little cost.

Forget about Taco Bell---go and taste a real taco made with fresh corn tortillas, onions, avocados, cilantro, and your choice of meat, served with garnishes on the side---

and none of it has been soaking in chemical brine.

To all you suburbanites: the secret is: you pay more in the burbs for inferior food. I moved to Providence after living in Warwick almost all my life. I shared some long-held prejudices about the area, too. After all, a few years ago it was pretty grimy, deserted and just plain depressing. It was probably not too safe, either.

But the area is being revitalized, mostly by hard-working Latinos (think "Cuban Revolution," Eagle Square, old-mills-turned -trendy-lofts)---but that's not the only thing that gives the area its interest and flair. There's a flux of students, families, and professionals (I'm a college professor) coming in alongside the "immigrants," breathing new life into this place, where neighbors actually talk to and visit with each other, and where delicious simple food is made and offered with heart. Even Rachael Ray gave it a plug. Try it--it just might shake up your palate and your worldview.

Best Mexican in Providence. The food is fresh, the salsa is spicy without hiding it's flavor and now they have booths. Great place to get a quick, made from scratch bite to eat. Apparently most of their food is made from scratch, that alone sold me. Then i tasted it, their tacos are simply the best I've found around here after some looking. They totally deserve another star. SIX STARS!

Best tacos I've had in the USA! Nice people. Friendly, quick service!. Great food & CHEAP!! Cavernous storefont with stools along a long counter - no tables. SIMPLE. Tacos are as light as a feather and the food is fresh!! Can buy a small assortment of Mexican dry goods here as well. As good as any tacos I've had in LA or SF!! Olneyville is getting better, but is still pretty down and out......

Tacos in goombahville? This is it.. OK, Olneyville is a little bit of a scary neighborhood for a suburbaner like me, but... A++++ tacos, and wayyyyyy cheap. Go there. I have nothing further to add besides GO!
