Johnston >Burlington Coat Factory
Their coats are fine. They can be a
little pricey but you can find deals. That being said, I had a terrible experience when I went there today. First of all, I hate how the store is laid out. They have a coats section, and then the womens/ mens/ juniors/ boys/ girls are all separate. I spent 20 minutes looking around the store finding it. No one asked me if they could help me when I was clearly lost. The coats section was really messy, lots were off hangers, and out of their size location. It was an inconvenience but manageable. I found two coats I like, both were a little pricey for me but they were the ones I really liked. I had to search and find a zip off hood that was missing, the woman I asked just kind of shrugged. It's not that she didn't help, but she wasn't nice and didn't care. But my experience went from average (to not caring either way) to where I will most likely never go back when I went to check out.
I have a savings and checking account- and because I had spent more than I originally planned because I bought two coats, I didn't have enough in my checking account. So I wanted to pay some cash, and split the rest between two cards. I admit, it was more complicated. I ASKED if it would be a problem, stating clearly what I wanted to do, and I was told it would be no trouble. I even let her know I could transfer more money into my checking account if it would be better. I was assured not to. I paid some cash, no problem. Then the woman I was working with was having trouble getting it to only do a partial amount so she called for help. I told them both I could transfer money on my phone to just put it all on my card and cash rather than having the second card. THE WOMAN SAID SHE KNEW HOW TO DO IT TELLING ME NOT TO TRANSFER, and took control. What she said didn't work and she charged it all to my card. This caused me to overdraw and get a 5 dollar fee. Even if she refunded the purchase and did it again the fee would still be there. She could also only refund me cash or store credit, for some reason it wouldn't let her put it on the card here.
Now I get what I was doing was complicated, I probably should have moved money to be safe. But I was assured again and again it was not a problem and got overcharged because of their mistake. I feel like it was their mistake, and they should have covered my fee (I could have even shown them on my phone I had been charged). She didn't even care. All she said was "Well, the moneys already out, soo..."
It was a complete lack of caring. I don't know if I was being walked over all day because I was young, or if their customer service is just really that uncaring.
Anyway, I will NEVER go back to this location. Unless I decide to return these two coats and give my money to someone else who actually cares about common kindness.
First I must say "BEWARE" I went to this location early afternoon on a busy summer weekend day I park about 6 spots from the door came out 20 minutes later and my window was busted someone broke into my car and stole any and everything they could find. Also the managers and employees at this location are rude and very unprofessional. I called asking for help because I wanted to exchange a coat for a bigger size they said in the system it showed they had 2 of the coats, they told me to call back in 30 minutes to find out. I called back and the girl said really rude with an attitude "I don't no who helped you sorry" I said ok well can you find the coat Im looking for and she also told me to call back in 30 minutes Im so done with this location.
best customer service. the staff at the store is very helpful and they are attentive like I've never seen in any store.
