Great food, great location, great atmosphere

We went tonight, before a performance at Trinity Rep. We were early, at 5pm. The restaurant staff was busy helping to set up for the free Movies On The Block, next door, so our server got somewhat sidetracked, initially. Once he was done with that, our service was fine.
The Fruit and Cheese Board was a perfect starter and was more than we could finish. The berry, pear, apple choices were paired with just the right cheeses. I had the Tomato Basil Panini, wonderfully crusty. My companian had the Tazza Cuban. She really enjoyed it - it was meaty and the sauce served on it was a great compliment.
We chose to have our sandwiches with salads. The house salad was flavoful and not wilted, but was also not crisp. We were served a bottle of water, but had to ask for ice. On a very hot day, attention to these details might have scored them a 5 stars
We passed on any deserts or drinks and had dinner for 2, for under $40. We will be back !
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: Slow service
Breakfast, Lunch, Drinks& a lot more

I've been to Tazza many times for breakfast and lunch and occasionally at night for many of their live music events. By day their food is great and most of the time their wait staff is very attentative. whether you go there alone or with friends to eat, drink or check out one of their music venues it's a great New York style cafe / club in the heart of downtown.
- Pros: Great food, atmospher
Good Coffee, Mediocre Food, TERRIBLE Service
by providence1979 at Citysearch
If you're downtown, Tazza's really your only option for a cup of coffee if you trying to avoid corporate mega-chains. Too bad the service is basically offensive. The owner and manager are both great: friendly, attentive, and quick. But the rest of the bozos serving joe pretty much all hale from the dregs of the earth: slow, rude, and weird. Is the coffee really worth it?
- Pros: it's downtown?
- Cons: A whole lot...
