The service, the food, the atmosphere all bad. Then we found out there is another restaurant named Apsara in south Providence that is the good one. Don't go here-go to that one. It's much better.
Service with attitude. I was shocked at the level of service at this restaurant. I have ordered their vegetable fried rice on several occassions. Twice after returning home I found seafood in the order necessitating a return visit. Their only provision an apology. Today I placed an order and when I went to the restaurant to pick it up I paid and asked the waitress to confirm that it was without seafood. She proceeded to give me attitude suggesting that I was the one who made the mistake with prior orders and that it was my responsibility to make sure that it was correct. Hard to do when they staple the packages. I was completely flabbergasted at her level of insolence that I asked to have the charges reversed and left the restaurant vowing never to return. One would imagine that after two prior mistakes they would have even been slightly remorseful. As a physician geared towards providing our customers with the best experience this communication to a customer was shocking. I would strongly recommend against this restaurant - there are plenty of better quality places. I was educated in the English schooling system and pride myself in being somewhat articulate however it is clear that they cannot comprehend orders issued in this language and will blame you for it.
I don't get it.. I don't get the hype around this place. Nothing I ordered there tasted good. I had duck mu-shu (little crepes that you fill at the table) and another dish with pork and mushrooms. Everything tasted basically the same: it was all watery, overcooked, without a lot of flavor from either the meats or the vegetables, and with a strange stinky aftertaste. I think they put fish sauce in everything, and way too much of it. Granted, it was very cheap, but then again Providence is full of places in this price range that offer much better tasting food. Plus it was very full, so you have to wait in line.
Good service for lunch.
I think that Apsara Palace has great food. Don't waste your time saying "the best" but its good. The service is pretty good. If you go for lunch very fast service because not many people are there for lunch. If you go for dinner you should make a reservation but it is not manditory. Prepare to wait maybe 15 minutes not much longer. If you are in a large group then you should definately make reservations because this place is good and people go all the time. Pad Tai is very good. Free water and tea. Rice is pretty good, if you like it buttery than don't order rice. The waiters and waitresses are nice. One thing I love that they do is they have a staute of the god they worship and every once and a while they go over and out a plate of food. They bow to the statue and pary. I think it is nice to ohave some good tradition. The bad thing is they don't deliver. But you can call and have it made so you can just go pick it up. Nim Chow and Spring rolls are amazing. They also have great peanut sause. Definately try to go.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
food is ok... service is horrible. i had their wings but not as good as Gourmet Houses's crispy wings. Apsara is ok but they need to work on their waiting staff. the tall cambodian waiter there was very rude to my wife and I. The food was ok. long wait. and soup came out cold. they re-heated it with the microwave.
