An oderly vintage shop. Calico is vintage shopping made easy. Everything has its place: a glass case for jewelry and funky retro shades; separate racks for dresses, tops, higher end vintage-inspired duds and frocks, and wears for dudes; shelves for shoes used and new; hooks throughout for bags and purses. I heard about this shop from the owner of Circa, my usual weekend haunt. I found myself giving it a-go on a lazy vacation Monday. I scored a vintage pair of Frye boots (my decade-long search is over!), which I'm pleased to not have to break in, and a "California" 70s tee. I left the shop clear-minded and guilt-free as most tops are under $30. I am daydreaming though about the higher end pieces made from vintage materials. They may prove splurge-worthy on my next visit.
