Italian specials, romantic New England ambience--each laid on thick.. The Scene
New Bedford's historic candle factory is now a setting for amour-laden Italian dining, complete with tuxedoed waitstaff and live piano music every night. Somehow, it all works--even when the service is slightly flawed the staff and setting are charming enough to make amends.

The Food
Expect Italian-American staples, such as heaping plates of fried calamari and toasted ravioli. Simple servings of pasta pervade the menu. For example, the sautéed chicken with sundried tomatoes, broccoli, black olives and potent roasted garlic, all tossed with ravioli. Another standout is pasta Modena, a savory mixture of lobster scallops, shrimp, and mushrooms in traditional sherry cream sauce over angel hair pasta. This is exciting, contemporary American food--cuisine embracing a whole world's worth of cultural influences.
