A "Slice of Heaven"!". If you are looking for a place where the best Portuguese food is, look no further. The Steak Antonio's is my favorite, with two eggs on top of a thin slice of ham, that covers the most tender steak you've ever sank your teeth into. The girls share the Chicken & Shrimp with enough extra for an additional mouth to feed."

Salty food. We arrived @6pm on a Friday night and were told it would be a 2 hour wait. Every table was taken and the noise level was so loud I lost my voice after 1 1/2 hours. It felt like we were in a barroom more than a family restuarant. When we were finally seated, they had run out of one of the specials. Each serving looked enormous but in reality the plates are overfilled with mostly rice and fries. And for some reason they put brown gravy on my carne espit(sp)/marinated beef. Everything at the table was overly salty and tasted of strong goya seasoning. Maybe that is so we would drink more....Not some where we would ever recommend.

Like home cooked Portuguese Food...... I ALWAYS enjoy the food at Antonios! You may have to wait, but the food is worth it. The portions are enormous and it is just like home cooking. If you are looking for a quiet romantic meal, this isn't the place. The restaurant doesn't have many tables, and they are all pretty close together. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates a good hearty meal at a very reasonable price! Just an FYI, there is also a seperate bar area within the restaurant that also has fair priced drinks.

The best portuguess restaunts anywhere. This is a place where the atmosphere is great and also the food. People always complain about the wait but that means they must be doing something right. I personal never had a unpleasent experience at this resturant i don't mind waiting for somehing that is worth waiting for what I mean by this is the amazing dishes that this restaurant has to offer. I always find myself getting more then what i pay for and in the restaurant business that is not usual. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for the best portuguess restuarant in newbedford or even in the state of MA.

bad manners. It was my second visit. It was packed and we were told to wait 35 minutes. We left to a nearby ATM (about 200 yards away, no credit cards, by the way) and were back within 15. They hadnt called us 40 minutes later and told us to wait 20 more, shouting while saying we lost our table by leaving the restaurant, (we supposedly had 35m!!!!). The employee (owner?) was extremely rude; I called for the phonebook and left to another Portuguese restaurant, not as famous but equally busy, where we ended up being extremely well treated and fed. Antonios being always so busy seems to have forgotten that the customers gave it the name and the fame, and dont really aim to please anymore. The first time I enjoyed the food and the unpretentious environment, this time I am relieved to have left to spend my money somewhere else.
