Don't go.....you'll be sorry. So unprofessional it's amazing! No one at the desk to greet you and when someone finally came (good 10 minutes later) there, they didn't know anything and rude. The girl at the desk, think her name is Leeann, didn't even look up at me, make eye contact! My sister had a birthday party for her daughter there. It was awful! Staff miserable, slow, they didn't even drain the pedicure tubs between each child, again Leeann. I watched her! I may call dept. Of health and better business bureau...don't go, you will be sure to get a disease.

Great Haircuts for Men in East Grennwich RI. I go to Shimmer Salon in East Greenwich to get my hair cut by grace religiously. I'm pretty picky and Grace actually listens to me and does what I ask. The place has a nice soothing atmosphere and eventually I'm gonna get a massage there as well.

Couldn't have been happier!!.
I would have to say that my experience as Shimmer Salon and Spa was exceptional. I had a hair emergency when I tried to highlight it myself. I ended up looking like a leopord. When I called the owner said she would try her best to get me in that day. She had two wedding parties to tend to and really didn't have time for another appointment.
She ended up getting me in between the two wedding parties and another appointment. Her and her staff were so accomodating and personable especially knowing their time crunch.
So the most important part of why my experience was so good is that she fixed my hair. I have never left a salon happy so this was my first. I am extremely picky about my hair and I loved the color and highlight job she did.

worst experience of my life!!!!!. The worst experience in a salon of my life! I had talked to the owner when i made my appointment and told her what i wanted and she said that long thick hair was her specialty and that she would take care of me, we had a very long conversation about what i wanted. When i came back we talked again and i cant even tell you how many times i said i don't want thick chunky layers because my hair is thick and wavy it would be a disaster and she kept reassuring me she knew exactly what i was talking about. Sure enough as soon as she started cutting she took off the chunkiest shortest layers Ive ever had done to my hair before and i instantly started crying because my hair is difficult to deal with as it is with its thickness, i cant even wear it up because big chunks fall out. And to top it all of she was not sympathetic whatsoever that i was upset and i had to pay an extra 20 dollars to get it done with the owner!!!!! i would give zero stars if i could

Not True In fact I showed her a photo from a fashion shoot I did of this exact cut,She loved it and after an long consultation with her. I gave her a beautiful cut just what she asked for, I had done this cut for a magazine IN fact .her shortest layer was 24inches long. ,She has very thick coarse hair like a horses mane and really needs a keritan smoothing treatment or straightening to make the texture smoother.

Not really a "SPA" and DIRTY. This place is certainly NOT a spa and the "relaxation room" was filthy, with shabby furnishings. Upon my arriving, there wasn't anyone at the desk to greet and there was heavy metal music playing! The services were fine. If you are looking for a spa experience you may want to go elsewhere.

Our salon is very clean we have always gotten 100 from the health department and beautifully decorated by a designer with new furniture also WEDO NOT PLAY HEAVY METAL EVER LOL I think this is a nice try by a competitor Also we have 2 receptionists!!!!! 7 treatment rooms morrocan pedicure area with mosaic tile and tumbled marble ect.

gorgeous salon great staff. I purchased a gift package for 25.00 on a tv deal and recieved a 1/2 hour shampoo and scalp massage a color glaze and a great haircut and new style with joseph , He spent alot of time making sure it suited my lifestyle . I will surley go back and try some other spa services too,

Waste of Money. Purchased a discount gift certificate online..."value" $120...well went I went to spend my $120 dollars it turns out the only thing its good on is one haircut??? Which they value at $120... Horrible scam that in the end cost me $300 as I unfortunately bought two and my girlfriend and I got massages. Terrible waste of money and attempt to win new customers.

Highlights (foils) and cut.
I am the kind of girl that normally saves money by dying my hair out of a box and only getting a haircut once every couple of years.
I got a groupon coupon in my email for Shimmer Salon and I decided to try it out. I am hooked, and I go to Shimmer about once a month.
I get partial or full foils to highlight my hair blonde and Grace, the owner found an elegant French haircut that suits me well! She is a superb artist and I trust her 100% with my hair.
I feel as if I am getting royal treatment while I am at shimmer, I am offered a drink, and I can even have lunch ordered from a local place. The magazines are good and the chairs are comfortable. The building is very spacious and beautiful.
While I am at shimmer, I have never felt pressured to buy anything, which I normally do feel that pressure when I am at other salons.
The other employees are all really friendly.
I have never felt so beautiful in my life. Thank you Shimmer Salon!

Hair. I visited Shimmer because I followed my hairdresser of 10 yrs there. It was a definite upgrade!! The pedicure area was so pretty I booked a mani and pedi when I left!!

I am embarrassed to say, that I was a stylist at this salon when I wrote this review. Grace has her staff go on to the sites to write reviews,so they bump the bad ones. I finally left this salon when the stress of working there was too much for me to handle. The fact that 15 employees have come and gone since Shimmer opened in Nov 2010, proves how HORRIBLE Grace is to work for!!

Shimmer Salon & Day Spa. I had a massage at Shimmer Salon & Spa in East Greenwich earlier this week. It was an hour of total pampering and relaxation. The massage therapist was excellent! The new salon is beautiful, I would absolutely go back.
