In Response To "Horrible Business Practice". I am a Receptionist at VCA BVAH. Our hospital's adoption program is a true value! I myself have adopted two pets from our hospital, one of which did have giardia (an intestinal parasite which is very common in puppies and kittens). We adopt out pets that are completely vaccinated, spayed/neutered & perform any corrective surgeries. The cost of all of these services alone exceeds the cost of the adoption. The price of the adoption goes back into the stray animal fund which goes towards helping other stray animals. The puppy in question had no diarrhea for weeks during the time he was here (I should know, I had to clean his cage).Often times, puppies who go to a new home and switch to a new diet can have stress diarrhea. If the stool had been brought back to our hospital, as was mentioned, there would not have been a charge to have it re-checked, but b/c it was brought elsewhere there was a charge. Unfortunately, this is out of our control. We are happy to hear that the recheck stool came back negative for giardia. At least now you know that he was giardia free when you adopted him.

HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE. I recently went to VCA hospital to inquire about a puppy I saw that was ready to be adopted. It was a beagle/basset hound mix and very beautiful. My boyfriend and I went down to check it out and he was perfect! We talked to the employee about why he was there and if he was healthy. She said he had a cherry eye surgery and that it was very common, thats it. I went the next day to pick him up, after they scanned my credit card and took 400, I was then told he had a parasite infection (giardia)!! We were never told this before!! They let us walk out with a sick puppy!! We called today after he has been sick with diharrea to see if we could bring him back (which they said we could free of charge) to get checked again. On the phone today, they said we had to PAY. They expected US to PAY for their mistake of selling a very sick puppy. Excuse me but we just paid 400 to adopt the sick puppy (which we were told was healthy). This place has very poor customer service, is misleading, and doesnt care about the safety or health of your animals. STAY AWAY!

Best veterinary hospital ever. This veterinary hospital saved the life of my best friend ever!!! Every staff member was very helpful and understanding. I would reccommend this place to anyone who wants the best care for their pets.
