I read in the newspaper that my old, noisy refrigerator, which has been in the basement for 10 years, was costing us a fortune each month in electricity. A new energy efficient refrigerator would cost us a fraction in electricity and could actually pay for itself inside of one year. I had seen Gil's advertisements for years and decided to give them a call. I spoke with owner, Lisa, who was very knowledgeable and told me that she would check out her rebates for the month and get back to me with the best price on a new refrigerator. We handled all of my business over the phone without ever driving from Providence to Bristol. The delivery guys were great. They set up and installed my new refrigerator, took away my old one and left the area clean, removing all the packing materials. Now I have a new unit that is quiet and saving me money every month!
Although your review of our store is more than a year old, my sister and I just came upon it and felt is was worth a follow up response for those reading it now and for those who might read it in the future. First, we would like to apologize for the problems you had last year in trying to reach us by phone. We didn't know about our phone problem ourselves until some of our long time customers let us know. When the technicians couldn't figure out what was wrong, we installed a completely new phone system that's worked fine ever since then. Again, we are very sorry that this happened to you and we hope you might consider Gil's in the future.
We pride ourselves on our customer service.

Terrible Customer service BEFORE any sale!.
I called the other day to get service on my GE washing machine. A local mentioned to me how wonderful Gil's is and now living in Bristol I need to buy everything from them. She said 'if you don't buy from Gil's you are not a Bristolian! My response to this? Well, that's true I am not a Bristolian not because I wasn't born here so that would make me, hmm how about a somewhat educated consumer? cautiously optimistic? I called Gil's for the first time this past Saturday during early afternoon hours, no answer no answering machine, today, five days later at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. I decided what the hec, maybe it was a fluke not getting through. So I called and got a female, I assume it was the owner Gail but I can't be sure. However, when I told her I needed service on my washing machine she asked what type it was, when I had her on the phone and went into my basement to check she was on the phone and then when I took a minute to find the brand, their was silence, poof, she was gone! I called back SEVEN times over the next hour and have not even got an answering machine, nothing, phone kept ringing. Well, needless to say, we were set to buy from them from our friends recommendation, but wanted to see how they handled a customer service call. We plan an addition soon on our kitchen and after this very small but significant blunder they will NEVER get our business; I am done. We didn't even make it through a service call. Wow! I will call GE and give them my business and Sears for our other appliances for that matter, they are a known entity and are still in business for a reason. Gil's does not win my vote on any level. Please reconsider doing any business with these people they are a joke. As I always say you can put a plaque outside your door but it doesn't mean you are adept at running a business.
Great customer satisfaction!.
I recently purchased a front loading washing machine from Gil's. There was a factory defect and they were great about it and replaced it immediately. I have purchased appliances for over a decade from Gils for several family members in addition for myself and they move heaven and earth to help customers in every way. Their prices are very competitive, and just as importantly I know I'm not considered a mere number in the cattle call with a franchised mart mentality in consumerism when I deal with the team from Gils.
Terrible customer service after the sale.
Worst customer service ever! Yeah they were nice during the sale, but when the product was defective, they did nothing to fix it. Gail was so rude and even hung up on me! Terrible, awful place. Spent over $5,000 in their store, and they did not want to help after the sale, even though they could have.
