Known for its lunches, All-American cuisine is served at the diner with a retro 50s atmosphere.
Terrible (but reasonably priced)
by Marvin99
Had the misfortune of having breakfast here (1st Sept 08).
Unfortunately I took a seat where I could see the food being prepared
and observed some very dubious standards of hygiene being exercised
by the guy preparing the food. When my breakfast arrived it looked
absolutely horrendous and didn?t taste much better.
All in all a thoroughly unpleasant experience.
On the plus side it was fairly reasonably priced, although my money
would have better off being invested in a Sausage & Egg McMuffin down
the road.
- Pros: cheap
- Cons: food looks terrible. food tastes terrible.
Great Family Enviroment.

This is a great resturant. There is great service and pretty much all the workers are family. I actually work there during the summer. Gary is my grandfather. He makes sure the food is hot when you get it. He makes sure that there is great service. Gary's is always busy on Sundays so avoid it on those days. The waitresses and busers are very chatty. It is a great resturant.
- Pros: Service, Enviorment, Location
- Cons: Parking
Local Gem

This place is always busy for a reason- it's good, inexpensive, fast and friendly. The menu is not wildly extensive, but they stick with the basics very well. This is a local place, right on Thames Street and if you want a good big breakfast (prime rib and eggs, before you set sail?) or hearty sandwich this is the place. It's usually very crowded, but the service is so fast your head will spin, so there never is much of a wait. This is not an over priced touristy coffee shop- this is local Newport at its best!
- Pros: Food, Service, Location
- Cons: Limited menu, Parking
