Just like the North End of Boston

Since moving to RI, I've been searching for a place with pizza like the pies at Boston's Pizzaria Regina. Aside from the Regina franchise location in the Providence Place Mall, Carmella's is the most like that authentic thin, chewy-crusted recipe I crave. (They call theirs "New York Style", but something tells me someone over there worked at Regina at one time... <: )
Both locations (Middletown and Providence) have fabulous pizza, with everything from traditional to exotic toppings like goat cheese and caramelized onions.
Sandwhiches, calzones, pasta - it's all great, and reasonably priced. They give you a HUGE salad for the money, as well. The Middletown location has about 10 tables, and is great for lunch or a casual dinner. Portsmouth only has three tables and a couple of counter stools - much more of a take-out atmosphere. Nicely painted walls and copper tables grace each location. Staff is always friendly and efficient.
My kids and husband all agree - Carmella's is the best pizza place around!
