You Love It or Hate It!. Update Sep 16, 2009. I've been back to Arturo Joe's a few times now and heres an update on a few menu items.

Wood Grilled Pizza $10 - great Pizza. One is enough for two unless your a pig out specialist.

Veal Parmesian meal is another great item. Although the sauce is very good, I found it a bit acidic. They should add some sugar to cut that down. The meal is very cheesy and lots of sauce.

Chicken Marscarpone is to die for!

Hope this helps.

I am a former chef so take this review for what it's worth. For my 1st visit the sampling I had Arturo Joe's food was fabulous. Their chef has his own style, so what you order may not be what you expect, and that's not a bad thing at all. (Although some Chefs will say when you order something traditional it should be in itself completely recognizable). We started off with 2 glasses of Chianti. Now, I just haven't ordered wine in a restaurant in a long time and $7.75 for a glass of blase wine is outrageous. Wine is just not worth it in restaurants anymore. (I'm used pitchers of house wine in Napoli for just a couple of Euro). Two buck Chuck wine surpasses the Chianti I had last night by a long shot.

Back to the food. We continued by ordering the special appetizer of the night and for the life of me I cannot remember the Italian name it was given, so I will describe it. A sweet Italian cheese (perhaps a Gruviera )wrapped in a puff pastry shell (about the size of a Swedish meatball), with an Alfredo Balsamic cream sauce with sun-dried tomatoes and scallions. It could have been a desert! It was outstanding.

Main Course ordered: Veal Saltimbucca and Sole de Vito. The Veal dish is not your conventional saltimbucca. The menu does say "chef's version". (pro-chefs complain about this). It has more tomato flavoring and not the brown gravy that most people are use to. But no complaints from me. It also was amazing and more than enough to eat. The Sole de Vito which can also be had as a Fra Diavolo (spicy good) was another outstanding dish.

Like most Italian restaurants the variety is there with Pesce, Vitello, Manzo, and Pasta dishes. So when you go to Arturo Joe's... divertiti!

P.S. The Menu posted on the Joe's website is outdated. It has added quite a bit more seafood dishes.

Okay Food, Poor Service, LONG WAIT!. I went there with my girlfriend and our 11 month old son on Saturday 1/26/08. We were initially told it would be an hour wait. I wanted to go the girlfriend wanted to stay. An hour passed, then an hour and 10 minutes. I inquired about our seat and was told it would be 10 more minutes. 15 minutes went by and I asked again about being seated. We were told 20 more minutes. Having waited this long we decided to stay. 25 minutes after that we were finally seated. Total wait time to be seated: 1 hour 50 minutes!!!! We didn't even get as much as an apology for the wait time! Keep in mind the waiting room is very small and drafty, plus they did not have the heat on out there.

I ran into one of my co-workers while I was there. She said she waited 45 minutes for her seat and then once she ordered her food it took an hour for her meal to be brought out.

Fortunately once we were seated our food came out quickly. The food was good but certainly not worth waiting an hour and 50 minutes for. I was very disappointed. I certainly will not be recommending this place to anyone from now on which is a shame because it used to be a great place. Since this incident I've heard from friends who have had similar experiences. Arturo Joe's certainly seems to have lost their touch since they reopened!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
