Beds are nice, service sucks!.
I have stayed here on business for 4 straight years and only the second one did I not have to argue with the establishment over services, overcharging or even the knowlege that the Waterplace room can not be accessed via the loading dock. It seems that the customer is never right with them and it takes alot of arguing and threats for them to fix stuff. The latest this year is that I accidently left my winter coat in my room along with my husbands suit and instead of taking care of it right away for me, I had to chase them down a week later and now they are charging me to send my own clothing back when I could have gotten them the same day I forgot them. It helped contribute to my respiratory infection going into my chest since I did not have my winter coat.
House keeping are all friendly and helpful, the rest of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. WiFi is not free eventhough you are paying quite a bit for the rooms. Beds are great, just if they find a way to charge for the air you need to breath too, don't be surprized and try to figure it into your budget if you must stay there.

non chalant service.
We reserved a room with breakfast included and 4:00 p.m. checkout. When we registered, the hotel staff did not say that the hotel could not honor the 4:00 p.m. check out time. So, we thought it was a go. We ordered chicken wings and a bottle wine at 8:45. We were told that it would take an hour! We said fine. We called as the hour approached and the front desk runner never placed our order with the kitchen staff. We replaced the order and checked back in 30 minutes. Yet again the kitchen staff was not given our order. We sent forget it at this point. The next morning we called to confirm our 4:00 p.m. check out and was told that the hotel could not honor. I explained to the hotel front desk staff about our horrible room service experience and she coooly responded that the best she could do was 1:00 p.m. When we tried to use the express checkout, we were not able to do so because they charged us for our breakfast that was supposed to be included.

Heavenly Westin.
Heavenly, Heavenly, Heavenly!!! I don't look forward to not sleeping on my Tempur-Pedic bed at home but now after my first experience at the Westin Providence, I don't have to fear a terrible nights' sleep. The room was very clean, well-appointed in an understated luxury. We had a great view of the city as well. I have 2 suggestions: Go to brunch early ($17 for buffet) as we went at 10am, and all the food was cold and dry...they didn't replenish anything at that time. Also, ask if you can have a room not near anyone as the room beside us was a woman speaking on her cell phone LOUDLY until 2am.
