Lunch. After moving back to Providence area and visiting the new location of Downcity , I was very disappointed . I love the atmosphere however ordered the Cobb Salad? I may as well went to Stop and Shop and purchased an already made mess. It was as though they emptied the contents. Salad wasnt crispy, chunks of ham?? bacon bits? EECK! horrible . The bill for crab cake sandwich , (my friend said that was o.k. )..cobb salad and drink was $37? Very high for quick lunch! Too bad because some of the staff are very friendly , unlike Abbey who does seem like Ramsey was right!

Disappointing - nice place, bad food. We went for brunch today and loved the look of the place, but were very disappointed when the food arrived. The main part of the food itself (corn beef hash & eggs florentine) wasn't so bad but the sides of toast and home fries seemed like they had been cooked a long time ago, and more importantly the plates were cold and so the food became cold very quickly - we were trying to eat as fast as we could to have it warm. Great prices, but we won't go back until they start warming the plates and using freshly cooked potatoes.

WOW-What a great place!!. The wait staff care about each person there...call you by name if you are a regular. Plenty of regulars come to DCD. The food portions are great and bursting with flavor! Great value on any budget and is warm and inviting inside! Love this place! The owners really care....you can tell by all the details that are attended.

Yummy. The food is fabulous here. The menu changes with the seasons, and they offer a wide variety of food to satisfy anyone! The waitstaff is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.

The restaurant is non-smoking, but they allow smoking at the bar.

Their cocktail selection is great as well.. try something new!

awesomeI ahve been going regularly to Do. I have been going regularly to Down City on Theater nights (both Trinity and P-Pac for 12 years. This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants. The food is superb and served beautifully and on time. The sevice is A-1 and very friendly and I love the atmosphere.

I Second That Emotion!. Absolutely one of the stars of the show for any theater going crowd or twosome looking for a smash plate with a sassy atmosphere. Conversation flourishes amid deft service topped with a cosmopolitan small town ambiance in Big City Providence at the Down City Diner.
