Editorial Review for The Original Cactus Grille – by Dawn Keable
In Short
Original owners Jason and Beth Brown have relocated the eatery from its last reincarnation on Richmond Street, to a tidy casual spot, whose booth-lined dark interior evokes the feeling of a '70s family restaurant. With two dining rooms and a separate bar area, patrons find plenty of space to enjoy traditional Mexican and barbecue offerings that boasts eight varieties of quesadillas. Better yet, hot sauce addicts can rejoice with five in-house peasant sauces.

I have been a patron of Cactus Grille for many years. Even when it changed locations, I kept coming back for more. The bartenders, food, and total package makes for a fun, relaxing outing. I would highly suggest that people who want to enjoy good food, excellent service, and great cocktails to try it out. With so many restaurant choices in Rhode Island, we can be very picky. I have traveled a great a deal and by far I prefer Cactus Grille over all other Mexican restaurants. My favorite dish is Pasta de la casa...and the buffalo chicken grilled pizza..There have been improvements made to the restaurant recently.. If you have not been at the Cactus in awhile, try it again. I even try to get to the restaurant for lunch during the week. Great place to sit at the bar and enjoy great conversation and service with great flair. Don't wait until Cinco de Mayo. Try it now.
Pros: Great cocktails, wonderful bartenders, food is the best mexican around.
Cons: more bathrooms

As the new owner of the Cactus Grille, I read these reviews with much interest. At this point, all I can say is that changes and improvements are coming soon. Renovations, both indoor (bathrooms and tables) and outdoor (landscape and awnings) are in the works. A revised menu with better pricing is also in the works t be completed soon! If you have vowed never to return, then I apologize for your negative dining experience. I am always available to discuss recommendations from our guests perspective. Please feel free to call anytime. Your business is important and I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
Pros: No pretenses - a fun night out
Cons: Alls cons are being addressed
