Editorial Review for Haven Brothers Diner – by Michele McCole Moss and Dawn Keable
The Scene
Don't bother looking for Haven Brothers during the day--you won't find it. Every night, however, this mobile stainless-steel-monument-on-wheels is dragged to the perimeter of Kennedy Plaza. The entire dining room consists of five bar stools and several counters. Need some space? Head outside and take a seat on the steps of City Hall, or opt for the spacious street curb. The diner is open until the wee hours of the morning. And where else can you eat alongside a real Hell's Angel?
The Food
Savor the greasy goodness of hamburgers, steak sandwiches and french fries. Tuna and chicken salad, soups and sandwiches are options for those who shy away from fried food. Vegetarian? Get the grilled cheese. The closest you'll come to dessert is a cup of coffee.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoFor those who have never tried it, this is a great spot to try Rhode Island's acclaimed coffee milk--but think twice about ordering it with a chili dog.

Although I've never eaten at Haven Bros. sober, there is nothing more satisfying than eating "3 dogs all the way" at around 3 AM! Depending on my mood, I may go for 4! I avoid the loobster roll however. I live in NJ but always look forward to my trips to Providence for the high carb, high calorie treat! Recess Pub, The Foxy, then Haven Bros. Can you possibly beat that?! Haven Bros. is truly special and one value that cannot be overlooked.

I was born and raised in Providence and can still taste the baked bean and hotdogs all the way. The hotdogs have the best chili, I've traveled quite a bit since those days and have not found a duplication of the chili or any better. Haven Brother's was where my parents took us on those evenings when no one couldn't sleep and we all wanted something delicious. Old fashioned Americana at it's very, very Best! P.S. Providence has the best Coffee milk anywhere.
Pros: Excellent Food, Nostalgia, Great Service
Cons: , broke, don't fix it!
