UNIQUE AND FABULOUS. Wow do I LOVE this place! And so does my wife, and so do all the friends we bring to L'Elizabeth! Anyone who loves chocolate as much as I do has got to try the "Sir Thomas." Now thats a dessert! And as always, the service was superb and the drinks were amazing. Unlike anything else is Providence. To all those who wrote something bad- are we at the same place?? This place is AWESOME and it has been for almost 40 years! Bring the one you love for an experience you'll want to have over and over...
Most Romantic Place in Providence!. This place is truly the hidden gem of providence. I found out about it from my parents who have been coming here since their first date in 1978! My boyfriend and I have been regulars of L'Elizabeth for a while now and it has always been our spot to come and unwind for a romantic evening with "to die for" martinis and the most amazing home made desserts. So, of course, when he thought of the perfect place to "pop the question" L'Elizabeths was it! We got engaged there two weeks ago and it just couldn't have been any more perfect. This place has been like our little get away and i just want to say "THANK YOU L'ELIZABETH!" we love you!
L'elizabeth's limited everything. Dirty and old environment, rude service and pricing themselves out of Providence. Never, ever, never again. The owner/server is on something the way he acts is truly driving people away, far away if your smart.
A perfect end to a perfect evening.. A casual night out on the town (dinner and a movie) led us to L'Elizabeths. I'd been here before and seeing I was in the area, I thought it would be worth the visit once again. As usual we were greeted by friendly faces and the service was outstanding. My wife and I ordered martinis which were outstanding (even better than I remembered). I passed on the desert but they sure looked inviting. Inviting enough to warrant another visit in the not to distant future.
I went to L'Elizabeth's last night with a group of friends. We were meeting two friends who had already ordered drinks. The manager didn't seem to like the look of seven neatly dressed people, mostly middle-aged, coming into his restaurant. He immediately told us we had to sit down and get out of the way. Then he micro-managed where we could sit and informed us they "don't do separate checks," so we would have to order together. He asked one couple to move so he could have that table in case a couple came in - yet he didn't want us standing. It was rapidly becoming clear he didn't want us there at all.
At about the moment I sat down as instructed on a very uncomfortable, old, and ratty couch, he started yelling, forcibly took a drink out of my (very tiny) friend's hand, and told us all to leave. We stared at him, open-mouthed. He continued to yell. My brother went to the bar to get another friend who was still waiting for her drink and didn't know what was going on. The manager got in his face, yelling and threatening to "drop him" where he stood. My brother kept his composure and ignored the guy; we all left.
When we were on the sidewalk regrouping, the waitress and manager came out to yell some more and tell us not to stand in front of their restaurant. On a public street. We were so stunned by it all that we just left. Fortunately, the member of our group who is a career military man didn't hear them stomping all over our constititional right to peaceably assemble.
One last word: the place was a mess and the manager was clearly tweaked on something. I would only recommend this as a place for a narcotics officer to make an easy bust
Worth the trip!!. L'Elizabeth has quickly become my go-to place when entertaining friends or clients. The drinks are the BEST (in my travels, nobody has even come close). Always warm and cheerful service from the staff.
My girlfriend and I went to Elizabeth's on a recommendation from my mother. She said that when my father and her were dating this is where they would go. We could not believe how special this place is. The martinis were unbelievable! We had one piece of white chocolate cheesecake, the whole night was a winner!
I recommend this place to anyone looking to go out on a date or a place to sit and talk without being bothered.
I give it ten across the board!
Great Place to Chill and Chat. If your looking for a place to chill with friends, or impress that special someone, Elizabeths is the perfect spot. Yummy homemade desserts (we had a slice of pumpkin cheesecake that was incredible) and a large variety of specialty martinis (try the Chocolate)made our evening complete. The waitress we had went out of her way to make sure we had a great time, and it was impressive and refreshing to see an owner with a hands on approach to his business. A place everyone should experience, LOVE IT!
Another visit to a favorite place.. Second visit and highly recommended. Great service and drinks. Everything done just right.
ATTN NAYSAYERS THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!. To all those who I see have written umm, lets say, less than glowing reviews about L'Elizabeth- YOUR CRAZY!! Now I don't normally take the time to write on these things but when I saw the absolute BLASPHEMY some people had written here I couldnt help myself! My husband and I have been patrons of Elizabeth since moving to the area one year ago. Since the very first time we walked in the door, we wre treated like absolute royalty! They were so friendly and accomadating... they even bought us a peice of their delicious homemade pastry just for being new in town. The drinks were HUGE. And HELLO to all you people who quip about the prices- these drinks are HUGE!!! and DELICIOUS! The staff here truly create art with their cocktails. The place is immaculate yet so comfortable and very classy. The music was romantic and my husband and I had quite the memorable evening. Needless to say now WE are the ones introducing newcomers to L'Elizabeth! We come in often and they always remember our names and our drinks. We LOVE L'Elizabeth!
