The Art Bar. I love going to the Art Bar. My girls and I go once every couple of months when we do our Providence Girls Weekend...I like the Art Bar because its 25 and older -- no little kids hanging out there....the crowd is mixed and the ages are mixed...the music is great with throwbacks and today's music...we have never gone there without having a great night..I highly recommend this bar.
HORRIBLE!!. my friends and i went to this bar to celebrate a birthday. we all are deaf and enjoy drinking and chatting and dancing. there were no signs posted saying that we were not allowed to take pictures, and this woman comes up and screams at us where we all were obviously deaf cuz we were standing around signing and all that. she then quickly walks off without even trying to communicate to us then comes back and screams at us again, when we finally get a bartender who wrote down whatever transpired between us and the woman, who we come to find out was the owner. everyone and everything seemed to revolve around the owner who was extremely rude, saying that what she says goes. WITHOUT any consideration to equal rights and whatnot.
Great Place.
The Art Bar is A+. The music is fantastic. The drinks are great and the staff is wonderful.
All must go. Note that it is 25+
Comfortable, Relaxing, Fun!!!!!!!. I am a outgoing, redhead who lovesssssssssssss to dance and this is my favorite place to go. I have been attending the Art Bar since I turned 25 and probably will till Im 105. The guys are great the music is hot and the drinks are tasty. i like that there is a dress code it keeps it clean so to speak. I highly recommend it!!!!! If you see me come over and say hi, youll know its me by the Margarita in my hand, the red long hair or on the floor all night usually the far side towards the back of the club.
love this place. first off, the bartenders are all hot!! music is awesome!!! a little mix of r&b, dance and classics... the best part of this club is that they will not let anyone under 25 in the door.. i will be back!!!
Don't go to the Art Bar. My friends and I have gone to this club several times on a Saturday night. The woman owner of this club is rude and nasty, and she stands at the opening of the club looking down at everyone that enters her club. She always is unfriendly and thinks she is God when it comes to the dress code. She should look in the mirror, if she owns one, to she that she is dressed like an old lady. She always gives us a nasty look cause my friends and I like to dress to the 9's when we go out and she wishes she could pull off the outfits we can. I have watched her turned down people at the door that are very appropriately dressed. I can't imagine why anyone who is looking for a good time would step foot in the Art Bar. The Saturday D.J. must be in love with Stevie B. because every other song played is a Stevie B song. Since Stevie B. only has a few songs, they are played several times in one night even though the D.J. keeps announcing that it is a "All Request Night" Once in a while he will play one of our songs but we usually have to wait almost all night to hear it , but Steveie B. has been played over and over again. Maybe the old lady owner makes him play Stevie B. every so many songs because she is in love with Stevie B. This clubs get a "Two Thumbs Down" from my friends and I how disrespectful the woman owner was to us the last time we went in, we will never set foot in the Art Bar again, and I will make sure that anyone that I know nevers goes there either. There are too many awesome clubs in Providence to hang out in without having to go to the Art Bar and be disrespected. Whatever happened to the customer is always right. Without patrons paying the cover charge and spending money on drinks there would be no Art Bar. So Lady Owner you should have more respect for your customers because without us you are nothing but an empty club.
It's totally amazing anyone would go to this place.... The place is a dump, and get this, it's a dump with a dress code. We were a group of 8 couples out to party and one guy was wearing black canvas shoes and they wouldn?t let him in (we loaded back into the limos and went over to the Top Hat, had a great time there) Inside the Art Bar it is just a big rectangular cave with no character or atmosphere and full of pretentious people including the bozo's who greet you at the entrance. If your into sleazy pick-up joints this is the place for you. Oh be careful, don't trip over someone?s cane or walker around the dimly lit edges of the dance floor.
One Word ... Ignorant!.
Loyalty goes right out the window when it comes to the owners of the Art Bar. The woman that supposedly owns 1/3 of this club is rude, disrespectful to her patrons and has no clue on the type of loosers she lets in to her own club. Her judgment is clouded by the younger crowd that goes here, not to mention for a club owner the woman has no sense of fashion whatsoever. And therefore, should NOT be so judgmental when some of the men show up in jeans, yet lets women in with flip/flops and shorts. This place isn't above any others in that area that Ms. High and Mighty should think she is better than anyone else, and that is just how she comes off. The other owners of this club should start to worry that they may loose their business because of her attitude ...
There are plenty of other clubs in the area that are just as good if not better.
Therefore, the next time I am in Providence to enjoy the nightlife, I will park my car in the parking lot next to the Art Bar and take my patron paying a$$ to the Prov ...
STAY HOME!!.
DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR! It's a waste of your time and money. It should say over 60+. First, the owner is a dried up old hag who obviously needs more excitement in her life. If you're riff raff , have been living under a rock for the past 10 years with no shower you'll probably be let in no problems. Your money is no good here nor is your loyalty.
GO DOWN THE STREET TO THE PROV...!! Or better yet stay home, wash your hair or get a root canal.
Best night spot!!!. I thought the Art Bar was a great lookin bar very comfortable nice diverse croud, young and old. I'm from Boston and go to RI every year for my birthday. I went for my 44th birthday on a Sat night and had a BALL. Have to give my shout outs to the best bartender I've met in a LONG TIME "Jeff" he was on the money!!!! Took care of me very well. Not only him the staff was great. Joe the door man was cool had a great personality.
