I would give no stars if I could. TERRIBLE customer service. Upon hearing rave reviews from friends, I had called Chestnuts to book an appointment for myself and my sister for a massage in order to celebrate her recent engagement; there was only one weekend we are both available to do so.

Well, their only listed phone number was out of service and I wasn't able to get in touch with them despite multiple efforts and even a call to 411. I then had filled out the appointment request form on their website at which point the message said someone would get in touch with me shortly. This was not the case. 2 days later I had received an email acknowledging my request and that once again some one would get in touch with me. No one EVER did.

After trying so hard to get in touch with and wait to hear from Chestnunts (1 whole week,) by the time I moved on to other Salons, everything was booked for the intended weekend and desired services. I am now extremely angry. Thank you Chestnuts for screwing up my engagement gift to my sister. I wouldn't be mad if I hadn't been jerked around so much and was able to find another salon/spa.

In short, I will nevert try to go there again and Chestnuts had missed the opportunity for potential future business with a bridal party who would have loved to have done both spa and hair. My friends are also now embarrssed that they had recommended Chestnuts to me.

best qualified stylists. Went to Chestnuts for the first time and was completely satisfied with the ability of the stylist to give me just what I wanted in a new look. Staff was very helpful and pleasant, and very knowledgeable about products for my specific needs. Highly recommend this salon to anyone who wants a fresh experience.

Providence Best Salon. I have been a client of Chestnuts for several years and they have always been friendly and very professional. I don't understand what these other reveiws are referring to. My services there have been nothing but the best. From Maura's relaxing facials to Lori's perfect haircuts they are truly the best in Providence. Chestnuts if you are reading this thanks for being there and making me feel my best.

Unpleasant experiences. Um, they think they are cool. But being cold and bitchy to your customers is less a sign of the sophistication they obviously crave, and more a sign of their own lack there of. Anyway, it's been like this for years. I went to them several times a number of years ago and stopped going because the service was less than great for what they charge (manicures, facial and haircuts - all at separate times over the course of a year or two) and the front desk acted like a little click that you were not a part of (unless you clearly drove a new Lexus or had on lots of large diamonds). It was unpleasant. So after a number of years I decided to give them another shot - and this time was even worse than before. I will never go back there for the simple reason they lack the class and true caring for their customers that I look for in a salon. Why go and get a nice manicure or facial only to be poo poo-ed by the staff? Low class.

This salon is great at double booking appointments. The manicures are terrific but the front desk double books appointments. I was also called and asked if I would give up my appointment to someone else that was double booked. They also booked me for times the manicurist was not even at the salon!!! Then I tried to get a manager to call me. It's two weeks and I'm still waiting!

professional, stylish, great service. i've been to chestnuts twice to get my eyebrows waxed with jenn. she is so friendly and professional, and she even remembered me after i had been away for a year. i love the feel of walking into the salon; it smells of aveda products, the lighting is so elegent, there are really nice waiting areas with the standard tea and coffee, but also dried fruits and nuts. it is a great experience.
