It's not just about the ice cream. Ben and Jerry, two childhood friends from Vermont, built their empire on a great product laced with social awareness. Sit in this scoop shop, grab an unbleached napkin and gaze at the murals depicting hormone-free cows munching in green, organic pastures. While you're there, pick up literature supporting some local environmental causes.

The Food
What a difference pure, delicious ingredients can make. Favors include Chunky Monkey, Phish Food, Cherry Garcia and New York Super Fudge Chunk, just to name a few. Decadent sundaes swim in real hot fudge topped with fresh, homemade whipped cream. Cookies, brownies and waffle cones are lovingly baked each day in-house. For the light-at-heart, there are sorbet splashes--refreshing, fat-free fruit slushies.

8. I BELIEVE BEN & JERRYS OF PROVIDENCE OFF THAYER STREET IS ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING AND DELICIOUS ICE CREAM SHOPS... THE ATMOSPHIRE IS RIGHT IN THE COLLEGE DISTRICT AND ALWAYS THERE IS A LOT OF PEOPLE WALKING AROUND... THE COUNTER HELP IS HELPFUL BUT ALSO VERY INTERESTING WITH MANY DIFFERENT STYLES.

funkadelic creamery. Employees are always friendly and have plenty of suggestions of what to eat. The flavors are inventive as well as delicious. However, the Thayer st. Ben n Jerry's is superior to Providence Place's, for atmospheric and many other reasons.

BEN AND JERRYS I SCREAM 4 ICE CREAM. I DO SCREAM FOR THE BEN AND JERRYS ICE CREAM! I AM PROBABLY THE # 1 FAN OF ICE CREAM ITSELF BUT THROW THE BEN AND JERRYS ICE CREAM FLAVORS, CHUNKS, AND SWIRLS IN THE MIX AND I MUST RUB MY EYES TO ENSURE WHETHER OR NOT I AM IN HEAVEN! HOW SCRUMPTIONS THEIR UNIQUE FLAVORS AND BLENDS ARE!!! IT IS ABSOLUTE SINFUL IN HEAVEN!

Great Ice Cream for everyone. Ben and Jerry's is great, you can buy it at this place, you can buy it at the store, and you can buy it from any freezer you find in this country!!!!!!
