Editorial Review for Viva – by Citysearch Staff
The Scene
Adjacent to Cafe Paragon, this beautiful lounge is filled with overstuffed leather sofas, equally plush armchairs and intimate candle-lit tables--all of which are pushed to the side when the club puts on the dance music. Popular with Brown and RISD students, the bar has been known to get so crowded on weekends that the windows steam up. If you want to guarantee a spot inside, you really should plan on arriving before 1am.
The Draw
With an excellent and inexpensive wine list (15 wines available by the glass; 30 plus by the bottle), an extensive selection of bottled and draft beers, and a choice variety of champagne, Viva's clientele certainly loves to drink. For those in need of an accessory, the martini is served in its stylish, mini metal shaker, which unfortunately you cannot take home.

Insider Tips
When to GoOn Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights this swanky little lounge is taken over by a veritable disco inferno. At 11pm, tables are cleared to create a dance floor and a DJ starts to spin loud, pumping hip-hop and dance music.
Look GoodTo truly sharp among the chic European students from nearby Brown and Rhode Island School of Design, you should dress to impress. In short, be sure to wear black.
Know Before You GoThursday nights are limited to Brown and RISD students, so if you don't have a student ID you won't get in.
The ExtrasIf you're hungry, grab a seat at one of the cloth covered tables and get a bite to eat from the adjoining Cafe Paragon.
