I have had their pizza multiple times as takeout, but finally dined in the restaurant/bar area last week. The food was good - basically what you would expect for a local pizza joint - but our waitress was TERRIBLE. We were there for probably a total of 2 hours during lunchtime, with maybe only two other tables of people. It took her forever to finally take our order. She would disappear into the other room for about 5-10 min. then finally come back. We had to get her attention to place our order, and we had to go find her again (in the other room standing around reading a menu!) to get our bill. She was unfriendly, and never asked how our meal was or if we wanted any drink refills, etc. Probably one of the worst waitresses I've ever had.
Good Food....good atmosphere.....but the service??...ouch!!!!.
My girl and I have been there twice now and sat at the bar for dinner and some drinks. Both times had the same bartender and it was the worst service I have ever experienced at any bar. You would have thought customers were lined up 5 deep all around the bar. She would disappear for 10 minutes at a time consistently. Then when she finally returned she might ask one person at the bar if they wanted another drink and then just walk away for another 10 minutes..... We had to basically interupt her to get another drink. And when we finally would get her attention she acted annoyed that we were asking her for something. Like I said, we have been there twice and she was working both times and the experience was exactly the same. I'm not sure if she is the regular bartender or just works Tuesdays but that was a brutal experience both times. We live close by and like the food and atmosphere but unfortunately will never do anything other than takeout from now on........
Local Pizza Place.
Hope Street Pizza is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. With the new bar this is something that will be around for a while. Greek at its roots, try the greek salad with chicken.
