BEST ANTIQUE STORE IN RHODE ISLAND. what a wonderful antique store one of the best I have been in.. great art deco and modern furniture great lighting ,pottery . out door iron . this is a must visit ...
You will need to devote an entire day to see everything in this wonderful store.. I stopped by Emma's Back Porch after first seeing some of her beautiful items on display at the new R.I. Antiques Mall in Pawtucket. Her store exceeded all of my expectations, both in the quality and condition of her pieces, as well as the fairness of her prices, which is of course, quite subjective. The store is well layed out, clean, warm and organized, thousands of items, but not cluttered in the least. The ambient lighting was very good, as well as several strategically placed spotlights , making the "examination process" nearly effortless. I've been in a few antique stores in the past, where you needed to bring your own flashlight in order to inspect the merchandise. The owner (we'll call her Emma) is friendly, knowledgeable and very passionate about her craft. A pleasure to do business with. Highly recommended! regards, wpod. PS.- some cigarette smokers are clueless as to how "stinky" they become .
Found this woman to be very snotty. If you ask me, she is a horrible business person! I felt as though I was being treated like dirt beneath her feet. I maybe a lowly factory worker, but I would NEVER treat, or act, like I am better than the customer browser. (oh wait, I know I am no better than anyone. take a hint lady!) Please forgive me for wearing jeans, a t-shirt, sneaker and hood sweatershirt. I am so sorry I don't drive a Mercedes or carry a Coach handbag. Get a grip woman, you are somewhat pitiful with your nose so far in the air.
Prices were simply outrageous. However, I must admit there were some beautiful pieces there. Unfortunately, the attitude would prevent me from saving my pennies in order to purchase from this person.
Try to have a good day.
Has nice items But not customer Friendly. Stop in Emma's Back Porch for the 1st time today. I have driven by many times. Will keep driving by in the future. Will give her she has many nice items but that is it. She needs to take a class in customer service. I and my friend do not dress for our jobs and we stopped in after work. She made us feel as if we were below her and watched us like we were going to steal. Warning if you are a smoker don't go in. She will let you know she can smell it. I happen to collect nice items and love pretty things. Just because I don't dress the part she should not make a customer feel uncomfortable.
Trade in the web chairs for outdoor furniture with a sense of history and style..
