RIGHT DOWN HILL!.
RUDE-DIRTY-UNCOMPENSATING!!!
I have been going to Camps for years-always loved the food and the people. However, recently I have seen a complete change. The girls are rude on the phone for take out and the waitresses are slow and seem to not want to be there. I have also noticed that the restaurant has a funny smell to it lately. The worst came about 4 months ago, though. I got my usual pasta dish and the salad it came with had a big, dead fly on it. I didn't want to make a scene, so I just politely called the waitress over. Her response was well sometimes they don't really wash the salad so that happens. I was disgusted and couldn't eat my meal, but did not cause a scene because I didn't want to embarass the people I was with. I never wanted to eat there again, but was over someone's house who had ordered take out and got me some too. The second time take out plastic container cover melted and broke into pieces into the food. I couldn't take anymore, since three of us had to through away our meals without eating any. Huge waste of money! Called and talked to owner who said the fly incident does unfortunately happen b/c lettuce grows in dirt-if you washed it better that wouldn't happen I wanted to say, and her only reaction for the plastic in our pasta was thanks for calling. No action like come in and get new ones for free or a gift card for a free pizza or anything. Campanellas used to be good-but got too big for its briches. Save yourself trouble and go to BIg Cheese on Reservoir Ave-same menu and prices with friendlier staff, cleanliness, and more willing to please! or go to one of the restaurants on the hill where you are treated like royalty (although it is a lot more expensive)
Campanella's is the best.. Well, I've lived in Cranston all my life, and have never been happier w/ a restaurant in my life. The waitstaff was friendly and curtious. The owners were there and said hello to everyone in the dining room. It was so nice to see that they had control over everything, to make sure that the whole place was running smoothly. The food is the best. Now, I'm Italian, so naturally I think my mom's pasta sauce is the best, but their sauce is such a close runner up. Honestly, I couldn't say better things about that restaurant.
