HAG is a gross understatement to describe the beast of a women who waited on us! (as said above) Terrible serive!!!! Pretty good pizza, most likely will only go back for takeout.

The pizza here is amazing!! highly recommend visiting this place. Saw rob lowe there too, and the night before that leonardo dicaprio was enjoying a pizza. so, seems to be quite the place to visit!

I would give them a negative star if I could. The pizza is "passable" at best. Seriously, there is nothing special about it at all & as other reviewers have mentioned it is either too dough or burnt w/ a charcoal like substance on the bottom. The wait staff is awful! If you feel the need to have Pizzeria Regina's at least get take out, you want the least amount of contact with these bitter old waitresses as possible. If you want good pizza where they people are actually glad to have you as a customer, got to Ernesto's, you will have a better experience all around.

Cons: hag like waitresses!

I'm from New Hampshire , I have family memberS that go to THE NORTH-END BOSTON Pizzeria Regina for years .. Finally me and my husband decided to go down there. We are driving around looking for a parking space .. my husband decided that it would be better if I run in and order to go , wile is driving around.. So I went in, and I order a large pizza to go . I tip the girl that toke the order ..( never tip before service ) very true ... so.. Im waiting on a pizza , my husband comes in ,he found a parking space near by .. so we both waiting on a pizza " to go "... The manager of the place ask us : you guys want to seat down ? I said : Yes! that would be lovely.. me and my husband seat down on a little table .. But the girl in a bar that toke my order .. starts having an attitude because the pizza was to go.. she goes On and On ( I could hear her bad mouthing about me and my husband to another customers ) , I got up and she saw that I caught her talking about us to the customer in a bar .. I Said to Her .. I don't care about a table Im glad to take it to go , but your manager told me to seat down .. she's Bla Bla Bla still .. I told her to hurry up with the pizza that I wanted to leave the manager comes over , and ask us to seat down again , and apologized about the girl in a bar .. she was very unprofessional . and the manager recognized that we seat again on a table, our pizza comes , and everybody in that pizzeria its just looking at us IT MADE US FEEL NOT WANTED THERE we order some drinks .. well .. what if I told you , , we eat the pizza with out drinks ,another waitress , she managed to forget . she give us the drinks on our last bites .. my REVIEW OF PIZZERIA REGINA IS : NOT WORTH THE TRIP , RUDE + DIRTY THE PIZZA ITS NOTHING YOU HAVEN'T HAD BEBORE , , AND THE PLACE IS SMALL, RUDE AND VERY DIRTY . Anyone who complains about the pizza here has issues. This pizza is excellent. It's not a spacious place, however, so you do feel slightly crowded-in upon while eating, however it depends exactly where you get a table. The food is fresh and delicious. I've had one overcooked Za there in years of going. I can't think of a better pizzeria in Boston or Cambridge, although the one near the Fleet Center has good cheap n' greasy Za. Dunno the name of it now.

Pros: good Za

Cons: can be long wait in summer; no parking

I love pizza. So perhaps I'm being too harsh. But coming from CT, I'm used to delicious pies with savory, thick sauce and delicious crust. This place has neither. Their sauce is horrible, the crust is too thin and the pizza as a whole is just sub-par. If you want a floppy slice with too-sweet sauce and burned crust, by all means go to Pizzeria Regina. But if you actually like pizza, save yourself the heartache and drive a few hours to CT, where everything is boring except the pizza. Seriously, good pizza is hard to come by in Boston, but you can find it. Not at this place though...

Pros: The decor is kind of cool.

Cons: Tourists, and most importantly the food.

I went to Pizzeria Regina (Thacher St) with my family on a Friday night, and I should say WE WERE ASHAMED OF BEING ITALIANS. They had us wait on the sidewalk for about 1 hour, with some guy coming out periodically saying "you'll be seated in 5 min". Inside, the restaurant was one of the filthiest we had ever been to. There were used forks and napkins on the floor, and the table was sticky all over. The remainder of the restaurant was the same. The waitstaff was pushy and impatient. My aunt walked out of the restroom in absolute disbelief. If you do not have Italian roots, please understand the difference between a hole in the wall and Regina. THIS IS NOT THE WAY THINGS ARE DONE IN THE OLD COUNTRY. Regina is not a typical Italian diner, it's a dirty and inconsiderate joint that has become a TOURIST TRAP and will keep pulling this off as long as people line up in front. If filth is easily visible in a restaurant's eating area and restroom, imagine the areas you don't have access to (kitchen, disposal, pantry, etc). The quality of Regina's pizza is irrelevant once you consider you are eating in such conditions. Also, Regina would be the last place for takeout b/c of all the reasons above.

Santarpios! So last night my better half and I decided to do the age old taste test between two fabled institutions in Boston, Santarpios in East Boston, and the Regina in the North End. While we always go to Santarpios we decided to give the Regina a shot since neither one of us have been there in quite a while. This is what we came away with: Regina has lost some of that local ambiance. Meaning it is too well lit, rather touristy and has their logo plastered all over the place. Whether it is on paper plates, napkins,cups, Regina always contently reminds you that you are there and they are a Boston institution since 1926. Does anyone really give a damn how old they are? I mean, first off they give you menus, they have chicken pizza, and no wine in carafes. While at Santapios there is no constant reminder where you are because the pizza stands on its own. The sauce isn't watery and the crust actually has flavor to it! All in all, the Regina has ceased being a local institution and has gone the way of a mediocre chain restaurant, with faint reminders of it's once grandeur. Do yourself a favor and skip the Regina and head straight to East Boston and Santarpios!

Pizza Regina is just a tourist attraction. In return, it gets raving reviews for the first timer. I will admit, the reviews here are correct. The pie can be good at times, other times it's laced with charcoal. The staff is unpleasant, and you always wait outside. I say, walk another 2 or 3 blocks down Salem and stop in at Ernesto's Pizza. There you will find a consistant pie I name "the best pizza in Boston," and more importantly, "the best crust in Boston."

Pros: Cheep Beer,

Cons: Inconsistant pizza

yup, the pizza's amazing and it's worth the wait. though IMO, no pizza's worth waiting an hour outside in the cold for.
