Quito's Sweet "Seafood Shack"!
by DirkM
I picked this place from the CitySearch site to take my seafood-loving Long Islander family, specifically 'cuz Auntie & Mom wanted whole Rhode Island Lobsters. We ordered Clam Fritters, Fried Calamari and Stuffed Quahogs for appetizers. I have eaten a lot of fried seafood - and this place is the BEST. None of the fried stuff was greasy! And somehow, the Calamari wasn't "rubbery"! I always thought just was that way, but the Chef at Quito's must be a Deep-Fry Magician! For entrees, besides the two Lobster-ians, our party ordered the Pesto Salmon on Puff Pastry, Pan Seared Scallop and Fish, Shrimp Scampi, and (the one non fishy) got fried Chicken fingers and a beautiful side salad, that had plenty of trimmings. Everything was cooked perfectly. The Lobster Ladies said that they were the BEST they've ever had, and they're not shy to speak up when things aren't right with their meals.
Plenty of Garlic Broccoli and soft-spun Potatoes as sides with entrees. Quito's = great seafood.
- Pros: Amazing seafood cooked to perfection!
- Cons: It's half a hour from my house instead of two blocks.

Known for its seafood, the restaurant serves all-American cuisine including raw oysters, chowder and fried calamari.
Bring the kids!

Great spot for the whole family. The fish & chips are excellent. And there's a good kid's menu that covers options for non fish-eaters. With seating inside (limited) and outside (with a water view) this is a good find in the east bay.
