Restauraunt "D"Wharfs...Anything Good

I had family visiting so I thought Id try and give them a great taste of Newport while visiting,..we were very dissappointed.
I think there was a sign when we walked in about 12:30 p.m.or so and the place was empty. This pub should've been doing a huge lunch crowd with its location and by the looks of the place right next door
(the Black Pearl) it shouldve been ...but it wasnt.
We were greeted right at the door and seated promptly, eventhough we got the "cold shoulder" from other employees when we said hello.
Our waiter was polite and courteous.I had a burger, my brother had a sandwhich, we split the calamari as an appitizer.
What we got was just that. The calamari was tasty, but there were more peppers cooked in then there was calamari...and could we please have some plates and silverware (which we never got)
My hamburger came and like I said, it was just that.A hamburger on a cold plate with a few potatoe chips.
Hardly what I expected for around 10.oo
Anyway, it is what it is,.Cold , empty and hardly gives you the feeling of a place you'd go back to.
That night on the way to the airport we stopped in at a Fridays. I dont like "chain" restuaraunts but this place was convienient. We had 2 appetizers, 4 drinks, one pasta ,one cobb salad and coffe for dessert for the same price of one appetizer, two sandwiches , two glasses of water at the Wharf Pub, with a "warm hello, and goodbye. from Fridays staff ...
oh, yeah, we had plates and silverware to without asking. Imagine that!
- Pros: Could be lost in next Hurricane
- Cons: Its an embarresment to Newport
