The best roast beef and fresh turkey in the city ......

The food is always fresh, tasty, and they give you a great portion every time. Dave and John will make sure you leave pleasantly full. It's worth the x-tra doller or two. Good Parking , Nice neighborhood...

• Pros: Food is always consistant, either on the deli side or pre-pared food side, fresh!!!
• Cons: Get there early at lunch time fresh turkey can run out quick sometimes... Tasty!!!

The butcher shop is overpriced and the service is always terrible. I actively avoid going there, but because I live and work so close it is sometimes inevitable but every time I end up there it dissappoints.

A stark reality: barebones Old World deli on one side; strip mall eatery with choice cuts on the other.

The Scene
Walk into this neighborhood delicatessen unprepared and you may be put off by the merciless light reflecting off the white-tiled walls and linoleum floors. But this anemic environ emphasizes the richness of the red in the cuts of meat and the ground sirloin. Local carnivores know the Butcher Shop isn't literally true to its name but rather essentially so. No true meat-lover would have a bone to pick about that.

The Food
For takeout or take home, the refrigerator case covers most of the basics, though it's strangely devoid of potato salad. Nearby stainless-steel shelves are stocked with jars of roasted peppers, artichoke hearts and pepperoncini. The produce section has a few in-season fruits and vegetables, not much. An adjoining, larger room with generic wood tables and chairs must be faulted for colorless design, but the hearty hot pastrami and the hefty eight-ounce burger assuage any gripes you'll have with the lifeless decor.

Best meat on the east coast

This place by far has the best meat, seafood and chicken you will find in RI if not the northeast. Highly recomend getting a burger or roast beff sandwich.. The jive turkey is a token sandwich.
