I just moved here from Boston, and needed to find a new salon. Needless to say, this is not an easy mission. After some disasters, and I mean from terrible hair cuts to bleached out horror scenes for coloring - I found Strands.

From the service at the front desk to my cut and coloring, this is an A1 salon. I would recommend it to anyone! I have had had manicures/pedicures, as well. Great job.

I recommend Ginny, she is a very experience and skilled colorist. In one sitting I had a full color repair that not only looked natural, but actually left my hair in better condition! My fiance went to Michael, and felt that it one of best cuts he has had in Providence to date - not bad considering he has lived here 5 years! I understand there are many fine hairdressers there, but these are the two that we have worked with.

Ask for Carolyn when you call, she is a manager there. Tell her your problem and/or what you are looking to get done, and you can rely upon getting good advice as to whom you should be directed to there.

Well, hopefully this saves some of someone from having to go through the hair horror show I experienced before finding this place!

HOT Wedding...

Just A quick note to give Paul a HUGE thank you;) for making me look and feel so beautiful on my wedding day. Sooo happy and my bridesmaids looked HOT! but not hotter than me, of course, lol. Everything he did was perfect, he listened and came up with the most beautiful hairstyles for all of us, and the makeup was flawless, I didn't know I could look like that;) Can't wait to get my pictures back..;)

• Cons: my hairdresser won't move in;)

Great Salon!!!

A recent transplant from NY, NY..I was in need of a new stylist...I was afraid because my stylist in NY was excellent, so I hadn''t had a hair cut in 7 months..yikes!! A women that I work with always had great looking hair, so i asked her where did she have it done. .."Strands,Paul the bald guy in the window." so I went to see him, he gave me an awesome haircut! I'm so happy! i will definitely see him again. Alittle of NY, in Providence:)

• Cons: parking can be an issue
